Annual Conference


The Virginia  Beach Genealogical Society is pleased to announce the date planned for their Annual Genealogy Conference which will be held on Saturday-October 22, 2016 at the Slover Library-in Norfolk, Virginia.    The library is part of the Norfolk Virginia Public Library system and is the central library for the city which is located at 253 East Plume Street, Norfolk, Virginia  23510.

To visit the library patrons are welcome to drive downtown with parking available for a modest fee in the nearby South Deck garage at the MacArthur Center Mall.  Patrons who wish to take public transit for a small fee can ride the Tidewater area Light Rail system from the Newtown area of Virginia Beach and get off at the McArthur Square station directly across the street from the library.

The Slover library is one of the best equipped, technology wise libraries in the Tidewater area.  The genealogy collection in one of the best in the region with material only available onsite and online that cover the history of the the area.  Patrons are welcome to view the website for the library which is housed as part of the Sargeant Memorial Collection by clicking here.
