The “How To” Group is for anyone new to genealogy, or who has hit a “Brick wall” in their research and need some direction. The group meets monthly, on the third Saturday of each month, at the Virginia Beach Central Library (except July and August).
There is a new and different “How To…” class each month, so you are encouraged to attend all of the meetings. This event is free and open to the public. The meeting time runs from 10 AM until Noon.
Contact President Jo Wilson with any questions. She can be reached on the tab for “Administration” and under Officers of the Society.
HOW-TO CLASS NEED NEW VENUE
***MEETINGS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL A NEW LOCATION CAN BE FOUND***
The new policy of the Virginia Beach Public Library system has reduced the number of meetings at the library that the society can schedule from 36 to 24 per calendar year. With 10 meeting each for the general meetings and the computer user group; and an additional 4 meetings throughout the calendar year for the Executive Board of VBGS; the society has reached it’s limit.
This group would love to continue to teach these classes, but need a new meeting place. It is the hope that someone among the general membership can help find a new meeting place for the How-To Class. Contact any Officer of the society with any suggestions.
